Julia Dunlavey

The "Ignite" design by Julia Dunlavey, a senior at ISU, was a winner of the Fall 2020 AESHM Student Scarf Design Competition. It was inspired by current events such as the Black Lives Matter movement, meant to show people coming together in solidarity and "igniting" inspiration within each other.

Atlas

Kelly Dietzenbach

The "Atlas" design by ISU graduate Kelly Dietzenbach was a winner of the Fall 2019 AESHM Student Scarf Design Competition. It was inspired by the map of the campus, its landmarks, and its traditions.

ISU Tartan

Madelyn Bunn

The signature ISU tartan pattern was designed by ISU graduate Madelyn Bunn, and was the winning design of the ISU Tartan Student Design Competition. Madelyn's tartan design was inspired by the network of art and architecture that make up Iowa State University.

Innovate

Jasmine Ambrosio

The "Innovate" design was designed by ISU graduate Jasmine Ambrosio using the classic "Innovate at Iowa State" text and designs.

Glass Prairie

The "Glass Prairie" design by ISU graduate Jasmine Ambrosio was a winner of the Fall 2018 AESHM Student Scarf Design Competition. It is inspired by the natural beauty of Iowa, meant to evoke feelings of pleasure from those who appreciate the Midwest landscape.

Abstract Adventure

Christina Badalucco

The "Abstract Adventure" design by ISU graduate Christina Badalucco was a winner of the Fall 2019 AESHM Student Scarf Design Competition. The design features an abstract map of the ISU campus, the eight rectangles representing each of ISU's colleges.

Each semester students from the Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management department participate in a scarf design contest. The department then votes on the entries and the winning design is printed onto a silk scarf. These designs are exclusively sold at Innovate 1858! 

The Icon

Pearly Das

"The Icon" design was inspired by ISU student Pearly Das, a winner of the 2021 AESHM Student Scarf Design Competition. The design is inspired by the history and architecture of the Memorial Union.

Swan Pride

The "Swan Pride" design was designed by ISU student Gloria Aguilar, a winner of the 2021 AESHM Student Scarf Design Competition. The design is inspired by the nostalgia of art nouveau and the stained glass windows in the Memorial Union.

Nature Walk

The "Nature Walk" design by ISU student Dorothy Vernon, a winner of the 2021 AESHM Student Scarf Design Competition. The design is inspired by ISU's two swans on campus, Lancelot and Elaine.
